friendly shoes, and bring a change of clothes. If you forget, there are of course plenty of
shops that sell towels, flip-flops and clothes.
Jurassic Park RIDE
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.universalorlando.com ; Islands of Adventure; theme park admission re-
quired; 9am-6pm, hours vary; ; Lynx 21, 37 or 40)
Oddly quiet, with no screams or loud music and no neon colors or hawking vendors, this
oasis of palm trees, greenery and ferns offers a handful of attractions with a prehistoric
twist. Jurassic Park River Adventure (Express Pass) floats you past friendly vegetarian
dinosaurs, and all seems well and good until...things go wrong and those grass-munchin'
cuties are replaced with the stuff of nightmares.
To escape the looming teeth of the giant T Rex, you plunge 85ft to the water below.
Little children might be terrified by the creatures, the dark and the plunge, but if yours are
tough-as-nails they'll love it. At Pterandoon Flyers , kids can float gently over the lush
landscape and robotic dinosaurs of Jurassic Park. Note that you must be between 36in and
56in tall to fly, and adults can't fly without a kid. Waits can be upwards of an hour for the
80-second ride and there's no Express Pass.
Lost Continent SHOW
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; www.universalorlando.com ; Islands of Adventure; theme park admission re-
quired; 9am-6pm, hours vary; ; Lynx 21, 37 or 40)
Magic and myth from across the seas and the pages of fantasy books inspire this mystical
corner of the park. Here you'll find dragons and unicorns, psychic readings and fortune-
tellers. And don't be startled if that fountain talks to you as you walk past. The Mystic
Fountain banters sassily, soaking children with its waterspouts when they least expect it
and engaging them in silly conversation.
And no, no one is hiding with a remote control. This is a talking fountain. At the swash-
buckling Eighth Voyage of Sinbad Stunt Show (Express Pass), Sinbad and his sidekick
Kabob must rescue Princess Amoura from the terrible Miseria and, of course, Sinbad has
to tumble and jump around to do it.
