With an abutting 33-acre savanna parading a who's who of Noah's Ark past hotel windows
and balconies, park rangers standing ready to answer questions about the wildlife, and
African-inspired food served at the recommended restaurants, this resort offers particularly
fun and quirky theming.
Ask about storytelling and singing around the fire. If you want to see giraffes and os-
triches out your room window, you'll have to reserve the more expensive savanna-view
rooms, but anyone can enjoy the animals from the deck out back. Even if you're not stay-
ing here, swing by for a drink after an afternoon at Animal Kingdom.
Downtown Disney
While these hotels offer easy and pleasant boat access to Downtown Disney, the only Dis-
ney transportation to the theme parks and Disney's BoardWalk is by bus.

Lush gardens and a jubilant Mardi Gras motif blend in an effort to create a Louisiana feel
to these sister resorts. Though the result sometimes falls flat and the simple rooms feel
dated, the resort is a mecca for activities and includes a sea-serpent waterslide, boat rental,
horse-drawn-carriage rides and evening s'mores.
This is one of the biggest resorts at Disney; a boat connects the two properties, or it's a
15-minute walk.
