Typhoon Lagoon & Blizzard Beach
In addition to the four theme parks, Disney boasts two distinctly themed water parks. Of
the two, Blizzard Beach boasts the better thrills and speed, but Typhoon Lagoon has the far
superior wave pool, a fantastic lazy river and tots' play area, and plenty of room to splash
on the beach.
Be prepared to spend upwards of 30 minutes in line for a ride that's over in less than a
minute, and take those wait times seriously - if it says the wait is 60 minutes, it's 60
minutes. Yes, 60 minutes for one slide. Both parks have fast-food restaurants and an out-
door pool bar.
Disney's water-park hours vary seasonally and by the day, but are generally open from
10am to 5pm, and from 9am to 10pm in the summer. From late October through February
one water park is closed for refurbishment.

An abundance of palm trees, a zero-entry pool with a white sandy beach, high-speed slides
and the best wave pool in Orlando make this one of the most beautiful water parks in Flor-
ida. Little ones will love floating along Castaway Creek and splashing at Ketchakiddee
Creek .
Included in admission is snorkeling equipment for small-group swims with the tropical
fish, stingrays, and leopard and bonnethead sharks in the 68°F (20°C) waters of Shark
Reef .

The newer of Disney's two water parks, themed as a melted Swiss ski resort complete with
a ski lift, Blizzard Beach is the 1980s Vegas Strip hotel to Typhoon Lagoon's Bellagio. At
its center sits Mt Gushmore , from which waterslides burst forth.
