In-Depth Information
Home to two of Animal Kingdom's three most popular rides:
Expedition Everest
, a great
roller coaster with a yeti twist; and
Kali River Rapids
, a water ride. Owls and peregrine
falcons dazzle audiences at
Flights of Wonder
. It's got some cheesy dialogue, but the an-
imals are spectacular as they zoom around over your head.
Maharajah Jungle Trek
is a self-guided path past Bengal tigers, huge fruit bats and
Komodo dragons.
Dinoland
RIDE, ATTRACTION
quired; 9am-6pm, hours vary; Disney)
This bizarre Dinosaur-themed section seems more like a tired carnival than Disney Magic,
with garish plastic dinosaurs, midway games and 'Trilo-Bite' snacks. But little ones will
like the kids' coaster
Primeval Whirl
, and
Dinosaur
is a really fun water ride with a
Jur-
assic Park
twist. Be warned - a giant T-Rex pops out just before you plummet, and you
will get wet.
Rafiki's Planet Watch
ZOO
quired; 9am-6pm, hours vary; ; Disney)
Veterinarians care for sick and injured animals at the
Conservation Station
, and some-
times there are animal interactions. You can check out the adorable, fist-sized tamarin
monkeys and pet sheep and goats at
Affection Section
. But ultimately, the
Wildlife Ex-
press Train
you take to get here might just be the best part of this Disney enigma.
Getting There & Away
Disney buses stop at Animal Kingdom, but be warned that the ride here can be up to 45
minutes, maybe longer. There is parking just outside the park gates.
