Epcot
With no roller coasters screeching overhead, no parades, no water rides and plenty of
greenery, things run a bit slower here in Epcot ( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 407-939-5277;
www.disneyworld.disney.go.com ; 200 Epcot Center Dr, Walt Disney World; adult/child 3-10yr $90/84;
9am-6pm, hours vary; Disney, Disney) , with a bit less va-voom, than in the rest of Walt
Disney World. Slow down and enjoy. Smell the incense in Morocco, listen to the Beatles
in the UK and sip miso in Japan.
The park is divided into two sections. Future World is where you'll find Epcot's only
two thrill rides. It is comprised of several pavilions, each holding attractions, restaurants,
character greeting spots, separated by grass, fountains and gardens. World Showcase
comprises 11 re-created nations featuring country-specific food and shopping. Note that
though Disney's Epcot map shows only one entrance, there are two. The main entrance,
next to the bus and monorail stations, sits at the landmark geodesic dome of Spaceship
Earth in Future World. The back entrance, labeled International Gateway , brings guests
walking or catching a boat from Disney's BoardWalk, Hollywood Studios and Disney Ep-
cot resort hotels into the UK. Both entrances have lockers, strollers and wheelchair rental.
Each nation in the World Showcase has live music, comedy or dancing shows; check
your Times Guide . Little ones can cool off in the fountain just before the bridge from Fu-
ture World to World Showcase.
