BEST WAYS TO SEE WISHES NIGHTTIME SPECTACULAR
The best place to catch Magic Kingdom's nighttime parade is on the curb of Main Street,
just past the entrance gates. You're perfectly situated to watch the postparade Wishes
Nighttime Spectacular fireworks over the castle and can scurry out of the park after-
wards, beating the crowds to the lines for the buses, boats and monorail. Settle someone
with a book and their cell phone to save a spot at least one hour before the parade starts.
Parades change throughout the year, as well as start times, so check online. Alternatively,
skip the parade, escape the crowds and watch the sky from a distance.
Boat Bring a bottle of wine on a private Specialty Fireworks Cruise or, for a more swash-
buckling experience, with songs, storytelling and a pirate captain, take the Pirates and
Pals Fireworks Voyage.
Disney's Contemporary Resort Make reservations up to 180 days in advance for a hot-
ticket meal at the rooftop California Grill or head up for a drink on its terrace. Get there an
hour or more before the show though, as staff close the elevator to anyone without din-
ner reservations when the bar is full.
Disney's Grand Floridian Resort & Spa Grab a glass of wine at Narcoossee's and sit on
the pier; for real seclusion, walk over to the grassy area in front of the lagoonside rooms.
Lagoon-view room Several deluxe Disney hotels, including Disney's Grand Floridian , Dis-
ney's Contemporary Resort and Disney's Polynesian Resort , offer rooms with a view of
Magic Kingdom.
Disney's Polynesian Resort Sip a pink-umbrella drink on the beach.
Getting There & Around
The only direct way to get to Magic Kingdom is by water launch or monorail from Dis-
ney's Contemporary Resort, Disney's Grand Floridian or Disney's Polynesian Resort; by
water launch from Disney's Fort Wilderness Resort and Disney's Wilderness Lodge; by
passenger ferry or monorail from the Transportation & Ticket Center, or by bus from any
Disney resort hotel.
If you drive, you must park at the Transportation & Ticket Center and then take the mono-
rail or the ferry to the park. With its massive parking lot and endless lines for bus shuttles,
the Transportation & Ticket Center, however, can be unbearable. Grown men knock down
toddlers in their efforts to catch the bus; harried parents scream at exhausted children; and
it's a depressing and miserable way to end a magical day.
