an easy drive, and the on-site dining room is reasonably priced (as far as Orlando resort
dining goes) and surprisingly good. Try the flat-bread pizza. Bay Hill, set in a residential
golf community and sporting only a small sign, is difficult to find. Head west from Apop-
ka Vineland Rd on Bay Hill Blvd and look for it 1 mile on the right. There is no daily
parking or resort fee.

Buffered from noise and congestion by two golf courses, wetlands and plenty of green
space. There's an adult-only pool, and a pleasantly landscaped family pool boasting a wa-
terslide and an 850ft lazy river. Villas sleep between six and eight people. The resort lies
about 12 miles south of Walt Disney World, just off I-4.
There aren't many restaurants nearby and, unfortunately, the on-site Japanese restaurant
is expensive and mediocre.

Nestled in the woods along the banks of the Wekiva River, this simple three-bedroom cab-
in makes you feel like you're in the middle of nowhere. Hammock House lies 8 miles west
of I-4 exit 101C, about 45 minutes' drive north of downtown Orlando; alternatively, it's a
four-hour canoe float from Wekiwa Springs State Park . Two-night minimum stay.
