This romantic spot, a series of rooms inside a historic cottage, has a daily changing menu
of eclectic large and small plates, from roasted pompano with saffron essence to grilled elk
tenderloin. For special-occasion dinners, this is your best bet short of driving south to
Palm Beach.
SNORKEL A SPANISH GALLEON
In 1715 a Spanish flotilla was decimated in a hurricane off the Florida coast. One of the
ships, the Urca de Lima ( 850-245-6444) went down (relatively) intact. Today, the
wooden-hulled ship is partly exposed within snorkeling distance from the beach at Fort
Pierce. To get here, exit Ocean Blvd (Hwy A1A) at Pepper Park and walk north along the
beach about half a mile from the park boundary. The wreck is about 200yd from shore on
the first offshore reef, under 10ft to 15ft of water.
Shopping
Historic downtown Stuart overflows with cute shops and antique stores. Jensen Beach is
also tops for shopping, especially for arts and crafts - check out the galleries on Jensen
Beach Blvd and Maple St.

Getting There & Away
I-95 is the quickest way to and from this area. South of Stuart, US 1 runs up the coastline
and then jogs west, into and through town. If you're headed between Stuart and Fort
Pierce, the best route is the slow-but-scenic NE Indian River Dr.
