and cheerful yellow walls. For romance, ask for a room with an in-suite Jacuzzi tub. The
inn's own 240ft fishing pier is a big hit with anglers.
Jupiter Beach Resort HOTEL
( 561-746-2511; www.jupiterbeachresort.com ; 5 N A1A; r $190-680; )
This elegant, slightly stuffy Key-lime-and-chocolate destination offers rooms (and over-
the-top penthouse suites) sporting British-colonial style and million-dollar views. Inside,
the floors are lined with Turkish marble; outside, the resort provides 1000ft of secluded
beach, tennis courts and a heated swimming pool with a poolside bar.
Jupiter Donut Factory SWEETS
( 561-741-5290; 141 Center St; per 1 doughnut $0.79-1.25, dozen $6.99; 6am-2pm)
These fresh-baked doughnuts are what doughnuts dream of being, so get here early so you
don't miss out. Although opening hours are from 6am to 2pm, the doughnuts are usually
greedily polished off by mid-morning. If you can't decide between Raspberry Jelly,
Banana Coconut, S'mores or Red Velvet, just stick with the most popular order: the Bacon
Maple Syrup.
Square Grouper AMERICAN
( www.squaregrouper.net ; 1111 Love St; snacks $1-7; noon-midnight Sun-Thu, to 1am Fri & Sat)
If this Old Florida dive looks familiar, it's because the video for the Alan Jackson-Jimmy
Buffett tune 'It's Five O'Clock Somewhere' was shot here. Perched on the water, with an
ample (sandy) dance floor, this place is an ultracasual gem in an otherwise well-heeled
town. It's a bit hard to find - drive to the end of Love St and turn right.
Little Moir's Food Shack CARIBBEAN, SEAFOOD
( www.littlemoirsfoodshack.com ; 103 S US 1; mains $9-24; 11am-9pm Mon-Sat)
If you didn't know to look, you'd walk right past this strip-mall hole-in-the-wall. But then
you'd miss out on one of Florida's genuine food finds, a neo-Caribbean cafe serving a
mouth-watering blend of global flavors: sweet-potato crusted fish, Jamaican pepper-pot
soup, lobster egg rolls. The seafood is as fresh as you'd expect (but so rarely find) from a
seaside town, and the microbrew list is sure to please.
