ste $410-735; )
From its old-fashioned room keys to the cookie jar in the lobby, this hotel aims for an old-
world elegance that's much appreciated by its loyal guests, many of whom have been re-
turning for decades. Room decor is very 'Great White Hunter,' with English plaid wallpa-
per and murals of monkeys gamboling around the jungle. The hotel's Leopard Lounge ,
with its painted ceilings and tiger-print banquettes, is a perennial favorite for long lunches
and evening piano music.
Eating
Dining out in Palm Beach is a high-end affair, though there is a reasonable selection of
budget bites. After all, just because you can afford to eat foie gras and Kobe beef every
night doesn't mean you never crave a big, greasy burger with fries, right?

ing to slip away from the Secret Service, would stroll across the mint-green linoleum to
grab a bite. Choose between a table or a stool at the Formica counter and order from the
paper menu just like everyone else, from trust-fund babies slumming it to college girls
headed to the beach.
