In-Depth Information
Beneath tents overlooking the ocean, Josh sells 100% certified organic fruits, veggies, nuts
and juices in PLA cups (made from corn, and so compostable, like the bags he provides).
Buy lots, because it's good for you, but don't worry: whatever remains is donated to a
homeless shelter. An adjacent juice stand whips up killer smoothies.

Getting There & Around
An old-fashioned trolley travels between downtown Hollywood and the beach from 10am
to 10pm Wednesday through Sunday. Fares are $1; bright-colored signs mark the stops.
Broward County Transit ( www.broward.org/bct ) buses serve Hollywood and Dania,
connecting them with Fort Lauderdale. Fares are $1.75.
To shoot north to West Palm Beach or south to Miami from either city, head to the Fort
Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport on BCT bus 1 and jump on Tri-Rail ( www.tri-
rail.com ; 200 Terminal Dr) .
Parking at the beach in Hollywood is hellacious - if you can't find on-street parking (per
hour $2), try the parking deck on Johnson St.
Fort Lauderdale
After years of building a reputation as the destination for beer-swilling college students on
raucous spring breaks, Fort Lauderdale now angles for a slightly more mature and sophist-
icated crowd. Think martinis rather than tequila shots, jazz concerts instead of wet T-shirt
contests. But don't worry, there's still plenty of carrying-on within the confines of area bars
and nightclubs.
