second-largest university - is the engine that keeps it going strong. Bands span
about every iteration of rock, from Florida's own gator-swamp rockabilly to post-
punk industrial, but blues, bluegrass, reggae and hip-hop get their due on any giv-
en night. Lots of Florida cities get loud, but Gainesville has the state's hungriest,
most vibrant music scene.
