In-Depth Information
More than a farmers' stand, Robert's is an institution. This is Old Florida at its kitschy
best, in love with the Glades and the agriculture that surrounds it. There's a petting zoo for
the kids, live music at night, plenty of homemade preserves and sauces, and while every-
one goes crazy for the milkshakes - as they should - do not leave without having the fresh
orange juice. It's the best in the world.
Rosita's MEXICAN
( 305-246-3114; 199 W Palm Dr, Florida City; mains $6-10; 8:30am-9pm)
There's a working-class Mexican crowd here, testament to the sheer awesomeness of the
tacos and burritos. Everyone is friendly, and best of all, they'll give you a takeaway plate if
you're staying at the next-door Everglades International Hostel.
