In-Depth Information
Haitians are waiting outside to park your car or sidle in and enjoy the gig and a beer with
you.
Magnum Lounge GAY & LESBIAN
( GOOGLE MAP ; 305-757-3368; 709 NE 79th St; 5pm-2am Tue-Thu, to 3am Fri & Sat)
This gay piano lounge is all dark shadows and deep reds but not to the point you're blind,
and the clientele is a nice mix: gays, lesbians, straights on dates or just looking for
something different - and by the way, the drinks are stiff, the prices are reasonable and the
piano music is quite good.
The Social Lubricant LOUNGE
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ; 786-409-2241; 167 NW 23rd St; 6pm-3am)
Enter the Social Lubricant and you'll feel like you've entered the backstage of some surreal
caberet that blends the Middle East, the Caribbean and (of course) a Miami nightclub.
Sushi is served in the back, movies are shown on a big screen and DJs spin chill music to
soothe the beautiful crowds.
Boteco BAR
( GOOGLE MAP ; www.botecomiami.com ; 916 NE 79th St; 11am-midnight)
If you're missing São Paolo, come to Boteco on Friday evening to see the biggest Brazili-
an expat reunion in Miami. Cariocas (Rio natives) and their countrymen flock here to
listen to samba and bossa nova, and chat each other up over the best caipirinhas in town.
Bardot CLUB
( MAP GOOGLE MAP ;
305-576-5570; 3456 N Miami Ave;
8pm-3am Tue & Wed, to 5am Thu-
Sat)
You really should see the interior of Bardot before you leave the city. It's all sexy French
vintage posters and furniture seemingly plucked from a private club that serves million-
aires by day, and becomes a scene of decadent excess by night. The entrance looks to be
on N Miami Ave, but it's actually in a parking lot behind the building.
