Flamingo Restaurant
NICARAGUAN

7am-9pm Mon-
Sat)
This tiny Nicaraguan storefront-cafe serves the behind-the-scenes laborers who make
South Beach function. You will very likely be the only tourist eating here. Workers devour
hen soup, pepper chicken and cheap breakfasts prepared by a meticulous husband-and-
wife team.
Paul
BAKERY
Paul sells itself as a 'Maison de Qualite,' which in other words means you can get some
very fine bread here, the sort of crusty-outside and pillow-soft-inside bread you associate
with a Parisian
boulangerie
. Gourmet sandwiches and light pastries make for a refreshing
Lincoln Rd lunch stop.
Gelateria 4D
ICE CREAM
305-538-5755; 670 Lincoln Rd; ice creams $3.85-8;
9am-midnight Sun-
Thu, to 1:30am Fri & Sat)
It's hot. You've been walking all day. You need ice cream, stat. Why hello, 4D! This is an
excellent spot for creamy, pillowy waves of European-style frozen goodness, and based on
the crowds it's the favorite ice cream on South Beach.
Pubbelly
FUSION
305-532-7555; 1418 20th Street; mains $11-26;
6pm-midnight Tue-Thu
& Sun, to midnight Fri & Sat)
Pubbelly's dining genre is hard to pinpoint, besides delicious. It skews between Asian,
North American and Latin American, gleaning the best from all cuisines. Examples? Try
duck and scallion dumplings, or the mouth-watering udon 'carbonara' with pork belly,
poached eggs and parmesan. Hand-crafted cocktails wash down the dishes a treat.
