map . If you're really in the know, then Maumau is one of your first weekend ports of call
- a great underground lounge-club, cultural centre and chill-out space with comfy sofas,
nightlyfilmandvideoprojections,exhibitionsandarosterofguestDJsplayingdeep,soulful
grooves. Strictly speaking it's a private club, but they tend to let foreign visitors in for free
- if you do join, the “Carnet Maumau” (Maumau Card, currently €12) gives you all sorts of
discounts and deals at hot venues right across the city. Thurs-Sat 9pm-2.30am.

with free live gigs most nights around 9pm, from Latin American beats to alt-rock. Daily

map . More of an experience than most bars, this highly theatrical tango bar features a suc-
cession of over-the-top crimson rooms leading to a stage at the back. There's cabaret and
live music (tango, rumba, Cuban, flamenco, African) - often free - a couple of nights a
week, though special shows are €5-8. Wed 8.30pm-1am, Thurs 8.30pm-2am, Fri & Sat
8.30pm-3am.
