map . The “Dry Bar” is a local hit, with its mellow vibe, freshly squeezed juices, Free Trade
drinks and artisan beers. Standout dish from the Slow Food-inspired, veggie-friendly menu
is patatas salvajes (“wild potatoes”) - fried organic skin-on spuds with a fiery alioli . Big
picture windows look out onto the corner plot, and there's terrassa seating over the road.

The wines in the barrels are to take away at knockdown prices, and you can drink a copa for
under two euros, but there's also a more sophisticated wine selection available in this cav-
ernous, stone-walled tavern. Add cheap tapas and a jolly neighbourhood crowd, and there's
no reason not to stop by. Tues-Fri noon-3.30pm & 7.30-11.30pm, Sat 11.30am-3pm &
7.30-11.30pm, Sun 11.30am-3pm.
CerveceríaJazz c/de Margarit 43 934433259, cerveceriajazz.com ; Poble Sec; map .
Grab a stool at the carved bar and shoot the breeze over a Catalan craft beer. It's an amiable
joint with great music, jazz to reggae, and locals swear that the burgers are the best in town.
Tues-Sat 7pm-3am.
La Tieta c/de Blai 1 600 742 532; Paral.lel; map . Small but perfectly formed, “The
Aunt” is a cool drinks and tapas place, with selected wines served by the glass, an open
window onto the street and just enough room inside for a dozen or so good friends. Daily
6-11.30pm (Fri & Sat until midnight).
