Barcelona's self-styled “magic mountain” amusement park - the
Parc d'Atraccions
- has
been thrilling its citizens for over a century. It's a mix of traditional rides, plus an influx of
high-tech roller-coasters and free-fall drops, laid out around several levels of the mountain-
top, connected by landscaped paths and gardens. Some of the most famous historic attrac-
tions are grouped under the discounted “
Skywalk
” ticket, like the aeroplane - spinning since
1928 - the carousel and the quirky
Museu d'Autòmates
, a collection of coin-operated an-
tique fairground machines in working order. Summer weekends finish with parades, concerts
and a noisy
correfoc
, a theatrical
fireworks
display.
Sagrat Cor
Daily 10am-8pm • €2
There are amazing views from everywhere in Tibidabo park, and they become even more
extensive if you climb the shining steps of the neighbouring Templo Expiatorio de España,
otherwise known as the
SagratCor
(Sacred Heart), topped by a huge statue of Christ. Inside
the church, an elevator (
ascensor
) climbs to a sensational viewing platform, from where the
city, surrounding hills and sea shimmer in the distance.

Take the FGC train (Tibidabo line #7) from Pl. de Catalunya
station to Av. del Tibidabo (the last stop), where you cross the road to the tram/bus shelter.
An antique tram service, the Tramvia Blau (departures every 15-30min: mid-June to mid-
Sept daily 10am-7.30pm, Nov-March weekends & hols 10am-6pm, April to mid-June &
mid-Sept to Nov weekends & hols 10am-8pm; €4.70 return) then runs you up the hill to Pl.
del Doctor Andreu; there's a bus service instead out of season during the week. By the tram
and bus stop on Pl. Doctor Andreu (where there are several café-bars and restaurants), you
