Finite element modeling of the beam
placed vertically under the beam, both at the supports and at the point of loading, to measure
the total and net deflections of the beam.
Finite element analyses of the tested beams were conducted using Program SCS. Each
of the specimens was modeled by the finite element mesh, as shown in Figure 10.4. The
SCS analytical results of the shear force-displacement relationships of Beams B1 and B5 are
illustrated by the thin black curve in Figure 10.5.
