The goal of this voyage is to create an additional five dollars a day to make your
trip possible. In your travel journal, make a list of all your optional expenditures
and take a hard look at what is actually adding value to your life. If you're reluct-
ant to exchange any of these items for the life-changing experience that awaits you
in another country, then make a list of all the skills you have, large and small, that
would allow you to create an additional five dollars a day. You could also look
around your house and consider which items might have value to others but aren't
contributing to your life any longer. And, as a final step, open an additional sav-
ings account to accumulate the resources you'll need for your trip. And regardless
of the particulars of your finances, whenever saving becomes demanding, be sure
to visualize how you'll use the money you're saving during your upcoming trip!
