Web-Based Page Monitors
If you're monitoring a minimal number of pages—less than two dozen—and
you want to watch the pages you monitor from several diferent computers,
the lexibility of a Web-based page monitor will be ideal for you.
Watchthatpage
WatchhatPage (watchthatpage.com) is a free service that lets you specify a
list of pages and then monitors them for changes.
You must register to use WatchhatPage with your name, e-mail address,
and a password. When you register, you have the option of specifying your
time zone, how oten you want to receive updates, and so on. WatchhatPage
won't provide updates more than once a day.
Once you've registered, you can add pages and even folders ( Figure 3.2 ).
If you're planning to cover several diferent topics, it makes sense to set up
folders for each of your interests—and setting them up just ater you regis-
ter makes it that much easier to administer the sites later. If you have some
pages you want to monitor for changes every day, and others you want to
monitor every week, you can set up diferent channels.
