Rue Auguste Comte, at the entrance to the garden (1)
Walk by the statue of the alert lion and the child's playground. Keep on
the higher level of the garden overlooking the lake and fountain.
53-62. Jardin du Luxembourg, on the asphalt and concrete areas (10)
Detour to the west passing the Museum of the Jardin du Luxembourg.
Turn left (westwards) along Rue de Vaugirard to the corner of Rue
d'Assas, where stonework on a block of flats commemorates the first
pendulum experiment that Léon Foucault carried out on this site.
Retrace your steps along the Rue de Vaugirard towards the front of the
Senate House.
63. In front of 28 Rue de Vaugirard, on the side of the Senate House (1)
It is convenient at this point to detour to the Panthéon to view the
Foucault pendulum set up in the central hall; continue along Rue de
Vaugirard, cross the Boulevard St Michel and bear right along Rue
Cujas. After the visit, return to the Senate House along Rue de
Vaugirard and turn right downhill along the Rue Garanciere to Rue St
Sulpice. Turn left towards Place St Sulpice to visit the Church. Retrace
your steps to Rue de Seine.
