Some of these collapses are very old, but it appears that 40% of
the collapses occurred after 1960 and that a distinct resurgence in their
occurrences characterizes recent decades, and particularly, the last ten years
(12 signifi cant events from 1992 to 2001).
It must therefore be concluded that this karst mass, which had reached
a state of relative equilibrium, is now seeing renewed activity, which can
