2. Click the New button .
The Edit Custom Function window appears. You can see it in Figure 13-16 .
Figure 13-16. The Edit Custom Function dialog box is very much like FileMaker's regular
calculation dialog box, but where the latter shows tables and fields, this dialog box has
spaces for the name of the function and its parameters.
3. In the Function Name box, type Circumference .
You've just given your function a name, which you'll call upon later when you want
to use this function in calculations.
4. In the Function Parameters box, type diameter and then click the Add Parameter
button .
FileMaker moves “diameter” into the parameter list.
TIP
When you add more than one parameter to the Function Parameters list, you can use the ar-
row icon by each item to move it up or down in the list. The order here is important: It de-
termines the order in which you want the parameters to pass to the function.
