Dynamic Guides
As you've moved things around in Layout mode, you may have noticed blue guide lines
spontaneously popping up. If so, you've witnessed clever little helpers called dynamic
guides. In Layout mode, choose View→Dynamic Guides to turn this feature on or off. Dy-
namic guides appear when an object you're moving has one of three things in common with
other nearby objects: aligned centers, aligned edges, or equal spacing.

shows you
each of these scenarios. Even though dynamic guides alone won't make your layout perfect,
they will help you keep things tidy without requiring frequent trips to the alignment and dis-
tribution tools.
