Figure 2-20. Preview mode shows you how a layout will look if it's printed. Here the People List
layout is zoomed out to 50% of actual size so you can see the whole page in a smaller than life-
sized window. Preview mode shows you where your page edges are—anything beyond them won't
be printed. You can flip through a multiple page list using the topic icon. The current page number
appears where the current record number is displayed in Browse mode. When you get to the last
page, a page count is displayed.
On some computers and printers, you can reduce the printout by a percentage by using
File→Print Setup (Page Setup on Mac). When you do, Preview mode shows the page pro-
portionately larger or smaller so you can see how the content area fits on the page. The scal-
ing options you get vary by computer, operating system, and printer, so trial and error may be
necessary to find just the right setup.
