The Regulatory Information section is useful if you need to make your database work with
Windows screen reading software or are looking for information on making your database
comply with HIPAA regulations. You'll also find a list of PDFs with information about
FileMaker Pro and Accessibility.
The Open Source Files section has direct download links to several open source tools, like
tools for downloading files by using a GET command through a web viewer or CORBA
tools. (If you don't know what those terms mean, you probably won't need to use these fea-
tures.)
FileMaker Training
FileMaker, Inc., offers tutorials in video and topic format that you can work through at your
own pace.
Filemaker Training Series
This self-paced series is FileMaker's official training curriculum. Its 12 training modules
cover the essentials of FileMaker solution development and are targeted at intermediate to
advanced developers. FileMaker, Inc., recommends the training series as a preparation for
taking the FileMaker Certification Exam. The advanced training series materials (topic and
CD) cost $39.99 and are also available in downloadable format ($19.99). The Basics training
module is a free download.
Webinars
FileMaker periodically presents live web seminars conducted by FileMaker staff or by recog-
nized FileMaker trainers and developers. Invitations are usually sent by email to members of
the TechNet (

, but you can view the webinars even if you're not a mem-
ber. You can find the recordings at

a few days after the
live event. Topics are grouped by New, Current, and Advanced and range from getting star-
ted with FileMaker to beginning scripting; from virtualizing a server to using external SQL
data sources.
