The Resource Center
After the Help files, your next best stop for FileMaker assistance is the FileMaker Resource
Center. Just choose Help→Resource Center. FileMaker takes you to a special website cover-
ing many FileMaker topics. When you click a general topic, you see several related links.
Not all these links are alike, though. Some are similar to the help topics FileMaker installs on
your computer, but the Resource Center also has downloadable PDFs and short video
demonstrations with tutorial databases. The Resource Center doesn't have everything there is
to know about FileMaker, but the topics it covers are covered in depth.
Updates and Downloads
As with most programs, you can find FileMaker's latest software versions on the company's
website. You'll find software updates and support files, like localized language packs, at
www.filemaker.com/support/downloads
.
Updates for the most recent versions of FileMaker
and Bento products are listed at the top of the page. A link to a page for previous versions
appears just below the current updates.
NOTE
You get updates for FileMaker Go (iPad and iPhone) from the App Store. In the App Store app,
click the Updates button. If your version of FileMaker Go isn't au courant, the new version will ap-
pear in the Updates list.
The Product Documentation section links to FileMaker's user guides and reference material
for FileMaker Pro 13, FileMaker Pro 13 Advanced, FileMaker Server 13, FileMaker Go 13,
and Bento 4. A search link to the product documentation archive helps you find product doc-
umentation for previous versions.
NOTE
The Bento 4 option was still active at the time of publication. But since FileMaker has discontinued
the Bento line, it may be removed. Search the archives for support if you can't find the first link.
The Technical Resources Section includes web publishing resources, XML example files,
and information on converting databases from earlier versions of FileMaker.
The Trial Software section lets you access 30-day trial versions of FileMaker Pro 13 and
FileMaker Server 13.
