In-Depth Information
Server, Web Server, Web Publishing Engine, and ODBC/JDBC. Each component section
of the Status pane contains buttons providing shortcuts to appropriate settings. Each
component displays an indicator, showing whether that component is turned on and func-
tioning normally:
Activity . This pane has two tabs: Databases and Clients.
— — Databases . A list of databases being hosted by the server. You can see which data-
bases have connected clients and the type of sharing each one uses. Click a database
name in the top section to see details in the bottom section. It shows the computer name,
account name, type of connection, and the IP address of each connection.
— — Clients . A list of people connected to your server, and the type of connection. You
can see each user's FileMaker account name, connection type, computer's network ad-
dress, opened databases, connect time, and even which version of FileMaker they're us-
ing. A section at the bottom lets you look at individual client information, like which
databases they have open, group name, privilege set, and connect time.
The envelope icon at the top right of the Client section shows a pop-up menu that lets you
send messages to clients or disconnect them from the server. You can select specific clients
for messages and disconnection or you can manage them all at one time.
