By boat Boats cover routes to and from Bali, Lombok and the other Gilis; most boats arrive
and depart from the harbour in the south (some fast boats drop passengers at Scallywags ).
You can buy boat tickets at the harbour office and Perama tickets from their office nearby,
opposite Villa Karang Hotel (daily 8am-5pm; 0370 638514, peramatour.com ) .
Destinations Bangsal (daily; 20min); Gili Meno (2 daily; 20min); Gili Trawangan (2 daily;
40min).
GETTING AROUND
By cidomo These horse carts meet all boats, charging Rp50,000 for any destination.
By bicycle Bicycle rental costs arouond Rp25,000/day. Ask at your accommodation for the
nearest bike-rental outlet.
TOURS AND ACTIVITIES
Diving Reputable dive centres include 7Seas ( 0370 647779, 7seas-international.com ),
Dream Divers ( 0370 634547, dreamdivers.com ) and Manta Dive ( 0813 3778 9047,
manta-dive-giliair.com ) , who all have pools.
Snorkelling Snorkelling trips to distant reefs are widely advertised (Rp90,000).
Yoga Reiki and yoga classes by H2O Yoga (Rp100,000; 0877 6103 8836, h2oyogaand-
meditation.com ) are held in their bamboo pavilion, just inland from Gili Air Santay.
ACCOMMODATION
Accommodation prices rise during the July and August rush, and over Christmas; book ahead
during these periods. The cheapest rooms are inland, where a growing number of village
homestays are opening.
