ACCOMMODATION
There are no hotels right on the beach, and few offer real sea views, but none is more than
a few minutes' walk away. Note that wherever you stay, especially along the east coast and
in the village, noise is likely to be an issue, whether from the late-night bars or the mosques'
early-morning calls to prayers. The groundwater on Gili T is brackish so showers are often
salty; however, an increasing number of places now import fresh water. Despite the growing
number of places to stay on Gili T, accommodation is at a premium, and most places charge
wildly inflated prices during the peak periods. Renting a private villa for a week or two is
becoming increasingly popular.
