At Les , a sign directs inland to Yeh Mempeh Waterfall , dubbed incorrectly the highest wa-
terfall in Bali (about 40m) - that superlative actually goes to Gitgit Waterfalls , which is 10m
higher. It's 1.5km through the village to a parking area, then a twenty-minute walk through
the forest to the falls and a pool deep enough to swim in during the wet season (Oct-March).
Even in the dry season it is picturesque, as the water bounces down the rock face into an cold
pool at the bottom.

By bemo Bemos from Singaraja's Penarukan terminal to Amlapura all pass this way. Simil-
arly all bemos from east-coast hubs Amlapura and Candidasa to Singaraja will pass through
here.
