In-Depth Information
Banks and exchange ATMs and moneychangers are in the main villages along the Amed
coast.
GETTING AROUND
By car or motorbike Transport along the Amed coast is scant. For transport within the
Amed area you'll either need to rent your own motorbike, available in every village for about
Rp50,000/day, or get a lift on the back of one - there are ojek and transport touts all over. Car
rental, with or without driver, is best arranged through your accommodation.
On a tour The most popular tours on dry land include the sightseeing loop via the spectacular
coast road, Pura Lempuyang Luhur and inland hikes. Prices range from Rp250,000/person
for a tour on the back of a motorbike to Rp500,000 for a car plus driver. Treks up Gunung
Agung can also be arranged from Amed (from Rp1,000,000).
ACCOMMODATION
In high season, villagers accommodate backpackers in their homes up tracks off the main
road, asking around Rp150,000/couple.
