Bale Kambung and Museum Daerah Semarapura
Near the Kerta Gosa, the Bale Kambung (Floating Pavilion), in the middle of the lotus pond,
was the venue for royal tooth-filing ceremonies . Its ceiling is slightly less finely drawn; six
levels of paintings cover Balinese astrology, the tales of Pan Brayut and, closest to the top,
the adventures of Satusoma, a Buddhist saint.
The Museum Daerah Semarapura at the back of the Taman Gili grounds contains a mot-
ley collection including kris (daggers), textiles and Barong costumes.
