Shopping for arts and crafts is a major pastime in Ubud: there are outlets in all its neighbour-
hoods, but if you're short on time the
market
in central Ubud is a good one-stop venue and
overflows with stalls selling pretty much anything you could want. For a shopping excursion
around the central area, Jl Monkey Forest, Jl Hanoman and Jl Dewi Sita are the best roads.
You might also want to explore the specialist “craft villages” of Celuk, Sukawati, Batuan and
Mas that lie south of Ubud dotted along on the
Denpasar-Ubud
road. The 24hr
minimarts
that dot the Ubud streetscape stock all major essentials, from suntan lotion to beer. Many
Ubud shops can organize shipping if required. Unless otherwise stated, all of the places listed
here are in central Ubud.
