popular restaurant-bakery serving top-notch international cuisine (mains from Rp55,000).
The weekend brunch (served until 3pm) is particularly good, there's a happy hour (daily
5-7pm) with free tapas, and live jazz on Sunday evenings. Casa Luna 's owners also run Indus
and offer a range of cooking classes (see Cookery and language ). Daily 8am-10.30/11pm.
Clear Jl Hanoman 0361 889 4437, clear-cafe-ubud.com ; map . A mainstay of the
healthy-eating restaurant scene in Ubud, Clear offers an excellent range of organic raw, ve-
gan, vegetarian and seafood dishes, drawing culinary inspiration from across the globe. The
design (bamboo screens, high ceiling, wonderful aged wooden door) is eye-catching and with
mains from around Rp50,000 it won't break the bank. Daily 8.30am-10pm.
Ibu Oka Just off Jl Suweta; map . This open-sided warung attracts queues of diners for its
babi guling , which is cooked fresh every day (Rp44,000 with rice and sambal ). There are a
couple of other branches around town too. Daily 11am-5.30pm (or until the babi guling runs
out).
Ibu Rai Jl Monkey Forest 0361 973472, iburai.com ; map . Hugely popular longtime
tourist favourite that serves up artfully presented Indonesian, Asian and international dishes
in bustling surroundings (mains Rp51,000-110,000). Bollero is their quieter offshoot around
the corner. Daily 10am-11pm.
Kafe Jl Hanoman 44B 0361 780802; map . Extremely popular with expats and visitors,
the vast and enticing “organically inspired” menu includes salads, soups, stews, stir-fries,
noodles and sandwiches supplemented by healthy juices and smoothies (Rp29,000-44,000),
top coffee, and sumptious cakes and desserts. Garden Kafe is a small branch at The Yoga
Barn ; every other Monday it hosts a buffet-and-film evening (from 6pm with dinner, film
from 7.30pm). Daily 8am-11pm.
Kué Jl Raya Ubud 0361 975249; map . An essential stop for anyone with a sweet tooth,
Kué produces exceptional breads, cakes, pastries and chocolates that you can eat in the up-
stairs café or take away, and equally good hot drinks (Rp17,000-35,500). Afternoon tea,
complete with scones, is served 2-5.30pm (from Rp64,500). Daily 8am-10pm.
Locavore Jl Dewi Sita 0361 977733, facebook.com/RestaurantLocavore ; map . This up-
scale newcomer serves innovative Modern European dishes made from local produce, with
five- and seven-course tasting menus that change every month, as well as a select à la carte
menu (mains Rp144,000-173,000). Techniques like sous-vide, textures like foams and un-
usual ingredients such as tomatillos (a green-skinned fruit) all feature. Pricey for Bali, but not
when compared to similar restaurants further afield. Mon-Sat 5-11pm.

French-run, first-floor restaurant with the menu chalked up on blackboards. The pan-Asian
and fusion dishes are excellent and reasonably priced (mains Rp40,000-55,000) and service
