NIGHTLIFE AND ENTERTAINMENT
Not really much here - this is “Snore”, remember? If you don't fancy the reggae and covers
bands at beachside restaurants on the main drag, you'll have to make do with so-so sports
bars and “Irish” pubs favoured by expats. For an escapist Bintang at sunset, it's hard to beat
the rudimentary beach stalls just south of Crystal Divers.
Casablanca Jl Danau Tamblingan 120 0361 287263. “The most colourful place in Sanur”,
the sign says. It's certainly the liveliest, popular with expats and surfers for nightly live rock,
reggae and alternative music and especially the free-beer Friday happy hour (if you follow
the rules set on tables). Daily 9am-1am.
The Cat and the Fiddle Jl Cemara 36, opposite Hotel Sanur Beach 0361 282218. There's
live Irish music at least three nights a week at this Ireland-focused bar-restaurant. Plus Guin-
ness, Jameson and Bushmills, of course. Daily 7am-late, food 8am-11pm.
Lazer Sports Bar Opposite Besakih Beach Hotel at Jl Danau Tamblingan 68. Rough-and-
ready place with cheap beer and a sports obsession - several TVs cover whatever's on,
usually Aussie and Premier League football. Local bands fill in the gaps at night. Daily
10am-3am.
