In-Depth Information
Bingin
Though fast developing into the liveliest of the Bukit surf beaches, BINGIN remains an over-
sized village of quiet lanes and astonishing scenery; whether you are admiring the superb
coastal views from the cliffs or those from the rickety warung that line the beach. It's a lovely
backwater, which has its own rewarding surf breaks - the short left-hand tubes close to shore
and the long and peeling left-handers of “Impossibles” surf break further out are the reason
to come for many visitors - and even a dedicated lifeguard in season. And where it trumps
surrounding destinations is in its choice of accommodation. Access to the beach is via two
sets of steep steps.
ARRIVAL AND DEPARTURE: BINGIN
By car Take the coastal road, Jl Labuhan Sait, which is signed west off the main Uluwatu
road, then, 500m beyond Jiwa Juice turn right onto a side road marked Pantai Bingin for the
2km drive to the parking area.
ACCOMMODATION AND EATING
All accommodation is signposted in Bingin. The cheapest places to stay are the beach war-
ung, many of them built hard against the rock; expect to pay from Rp150,000 for a basic
bamboo-walled room in high season - low in facilities, high in castaway escapism. More
comfortable options can be found on the clifftop.

appealingly simple luxe in the six contemporary-styled circular huts. Bar bamboo blinds,
