Task 1: Cable the Topology and Basic Configurations
Cable the topology as shown in Figure 9-9. If data communications equipment/data termi-
nal equipment (DCE/DTE) connections and interfaces are different than shown in Figure
9-9 and the table, relabel the figure to match your connections.
Step 1.
Configure the routers as follows.
Step 2.
Configure the router host name.
Disable DNS lookup.
Configure an EXEC mode password.
Configure a message-of-the-day banner.
Configure a password for console connections.
Configure a password for VTY connections.
The following is a basic configuration for RTA.

RTA(config)# no ip domain-lookup
