The following sections review the commands used for EIGRP route summarization, default route
propagation, and fine tuning.
Manual Summarization Exercise
EIGRP can be configured to summarize routes. Record the command syntax to manually configure an
EIGRP route summary.
Router(config-if)# ip summary-address eigrp as-number network-address subnet-mask
In the chapter topology shown earlier in Figure 9-6, HQ and the Branch routers can manually summa-
rize the LANs that are directly connected to each router.
Because HQ has three EIGRP neighbors, the EIGRP manual summarization is configured on each of
the serial interfaces shared with Branch routers. Record the commands necessary to configure HQ to
advertise its LANs in one route.
HQ(config)# interface s0/0/1
