CLI Configuration and Addressing
The basic addressing and configuration of Cisco devices were covered in a previous course. However,
we will spend some time reviewing these topics as well as prepare you for the hands-on lab experi-
ence in this course.
Implementing Basic Addressing Schemes Exercise
When designing a new network or mapping an existing network, it is important to document the net-
work. At a minimum, the documentation should include a topology map of the network and an
addressing table that lists the following information:
Device names
■
Interface
■
IP address and subnet mask
■
Default gateway address for end devices such as PCs
■
Refer to the topology shown in Figure 1-5 and Table 1-1 that follows it. Using the following guide-
lines, fill in the addressing table with the correct information:
The routers use the first address in each network for the LANs.
■
R1 uses the first address and R2 uses the second address for the WAN.
■
The PCs use the tenth address.
