In-Depth Information
12. Above the Ignore Backfacing check box, there are five selection identifiers.
They match the ones you bring up in the marking menus. Try using these
various buttons. Select various components in the model and see what they do.
Referring back to Figure 3.4, you'll also notice that when you right-click on
a selection, the marking menu gives you an option to move, rotate, or scale.
You'll concentrate on these tools in this exercise.
13. Select Move, Rotate, or Scale. You'll notice that a gizmo appears (see Figure
3.6). This gizmo allows you to move, rotate, or scale your selection in one
axis or all of the axes in the virtual space.
Figure 3.6 Select Move, Rotate, or Scale to display a gizmo.
If you move your cursor over one of the arrows or axes on the gizmo, you'll
notice that gizmo highlights let you know you have an option at that point to
make a change with the respective tool. If you select the gizmo in the Z axis,
you move or scale things upward or downward along the Z axis. To scale in
all axes, you need to select the yellow gizmo in the center (see Figure 3.7).
