Main toolbar. This toolbar houses a collection of graphical shortcuts that
you can easily find without using the main menu bar.
Command Panels. These panels give you access to modeling and animation
functions, such as:
Create. This panel contains all object creation tools, such as cubes and
toruses.
Modify. This panel contains modifiers and editing tools for objects.
Hierarchy. This panel contains linking and inverse kinematics parameters
used for animation.
Mo ion. This panel contains animation controllers.
Display. This panel contains object display controls, allowing the user
to hide and freeze objects for easier modeling.
Utilities. This panel contains miscellaneous utilities.
Object categories. This list includes such categories as Shapes, Lights, and
Cameras.
Rollout. This is where all the options are stored for the Object categories.
Viewport. This is where you view and work with your scene.
Time slider. This slider allows you to, when animating, scrub the animation
back and forth, indicate a frame, or pick a frame to work on.
Track bar. This bar indicates which frame the animation is on.
Prompt line and status bar. These provide a quick reference for you,
usually indicating which tool's icon you have rolled over, as well as display
properties.
Animation Keying controls. This section includes animation key controls
and filters.
Absolute Animation Playback controls. These controls play the animation
forward and backward, and allow you to move frame by frame.
Viewport Navigation controls. These include controls that allow you to
perform such tasks as magnifying, rolling the camera, and panning or slid-
ing the scene side to side.
