23. When the vertices are completely flat, move them so they are flush with the
center line, as shown in Figure 6.61.

24. To mirror properly, you need to remove the polygons along the seam. Select
them, as shown in Figure 6.62, and delete them. These polygons are not
needed in the model and will cause problems later when you try to mirror
the model.
25. Now you can go back to modeling the face. You will use the Cut tool in the
Edit Geometry rollout to add some needed polygons to the eye of the char-
acter. Cut the polygons, as shown in Figure 6.63.
26. When cutting polygons you will often find that the vertices created might
not line up perfectly with the vertices already there. After every cut, I always
check to see whether there are more vertices than I need. In this case I got
an extra vertex inside the nose (see Figure 6.64). I had to remove this vertex.
27. Now you need to move the vertices around the eyes to better follow the
shape of the eye. In addition, cut some of the polygons around the nose to
give it a more natural shape.
