Give the model one final pass, looking at it in the Perspective view, to round the
shapes and make it look more natural.
Building the Head
The head is probably the most complex part of a character model, with all of the
facial features and hair. Some artists prefer to build it as a separate model and
attach it later. In this example I will show you how to create it from the base model.
You will be building the head from the neck up.
1. Adjust the polygons of the neck so they fit the base of the character's neck.
2. Extrude the neck polygons up following the template, as shown in Figure
6.46.

3. Extrude the polygons again and pull them up to the jaw, as shown in Figure
6.47.
4. Extrude again to form the base of the jawbone.
5. Now select the polygons at the front of the jaw and extrude them toward
the chin, as shown in Figure 6.48.
