Modeling the Torso
The first step to modeling the torso is to create the hip and crotch area.
1. Select the top two polygons of the leg and extrude them upward just a little
bit, as shown in Figure 6.33. This will help with the animation later.

2. Now extrude the polygons again and move them upward to near the top of
the hipbone in the template.
3. Use the Scale tool to flatten the polygons vertically, and then readjust them
using the Move tool. They should now look like Figure 6.34.
4. Now select the inside polygons of the hip area and extrude them toward the
center of the template, as shown in Figure 6.35. Flatten these polygons as well.
5. Move the polygons to the center, as shown in Figure 6.36.
6. Adjust the vertices so they line up with the template around the crotch area.
