Mirroring the Geometry
Now it is time to mirror the geometry of the fuselage, wing, and horizontal stabi-
lizers to further complete the model.
1. Select the fuselage. In the Modifier List, select Symmetry. In the Parameters
box, deselect the Slice Along Mirror option. This will mirror the geometry,
set the correct axis and placement, and weld the vertices along the seam
(see Figure 4.54). Collapse the Modifier List.
2. Repeat the procedure for the main wing (see Figure 4.55).
3. Repeat the procedure again for the rear stabilizer. As you can see in Figure
4.56, this does not work well for the rear stabilizer. Undo this command.
What you can do instead for the rest of the rear stabilizer and any other
geometry that needs to be mirrored is clone, transform, and scale.
4. Start with the main strut. Select, clone, and make a copy of it. Right-click
and open the submenu and change the X value to a positive. This will move
the strut to the other side of the plane (see Figure 4.57).
