To feast your eyes on some of the world's most exquisite lace, head to Burano's impressive lace museum.
This is one of the few places to view genuine Venetian lace made using traditional methods. More than 350
pieces of stunning lacework are showcased in rotating exhibitions. On most days, you can watch lacemakers
working with their needle and thread, and gain an appreciation for the painstaking nature of this tradition.

Along one of the corridors of the Doge's Palace is a nineteenth-century gondola complete with its passenger
compartment, or felze , intact.

Arzanà is a nonprofit organization dedicated to the preservation and restoration of historic Venetian boats, in-
cluding gondolas. They have a fascinating collection of boats and gondola fittings, including oarlocks, ropes,
oars, upholstery, ferri , and other curious vestiges. The offices and collections are not open to the public on a
regular basis, but private visits may be arranged at least a month in advance by email.
