One way to resolve this is to drag the blue
Borough
pill from the Color shelf to the Column
shelf, as shown in
Figure 3-7
.

The resulting chart is almost identical to the vertical bar chart, except that instead of using
bars as the Mark type, it makes use of rings, or circles. Each borough has its own column, so
there is no need to use color to differentiate them from one another.
Before, we decided that the horizontal bar layout was superior to the vertical bar layout, so a
further improvement to this layout would be to flip the chart 90 degrees by using the Swap
function, as shown in
Figure 3-8
.
