What we ultimately create for our audience strongly depends on what we hope to accom-

, we need to consider
who
we are presenting
to,
what
meaning we hope to relate, and
why
we are doing so in the first place:
▪ If we want to allow them to ask and answer their own questions, we'll want to give them
an exploratory dashboard that makes it easy to do so.
▪ If we want them to know the answer to a single specific or multiple specific questions,
then we'll want to create an explanatory dashboard that makes those answers clear.
